Our Mission

To honor and preserve Hispanic Culture and to empower present and future Hispanic Generations. 

History

The Latin Ladies Organization, Inc. was initially started by a core group of Hispanic ladies (Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Spain and Puerto Rico). In 1995, they started a monthly social dinner. In their socialization, they decided to establish a worthy mission that will benefit the Hispanic youth. The group began to have short meetings, elected their first set of officers in 1996. The group received their not for profit status from the State of Ohio in 1977 which was followed by the 501 c 3 federal status in 2003. There has been 52 recipients of the Latin Ladies Scholarship since 2000. The organization announces their recipients annually during the Scholarship Award Gala. The organization extended their membership to their spouses and other interested male friends who believe in their mission. The membership is open to everyone regardless of ethnic origin or gender.

1. Enero 14 (sábado) de 7:30 AM a 1 PM ‘Día de Mamografías para Latinas’ - Proyecto de Cáncer del seno en Latinas – ofrecer servicios de interpretación voluntarios.

2. Febrero 17 (viernes) 7 PM - Baile en 94 th Aero Squadron at 5030 Sawyer Road, Columbus, OH 43219

3. Marzo 23 (viernes) 6:00 PM - Elecciones de la Mesa Directiva en ‘El Acaplco’ At 7475 Vantage Dr. Columbus Oh 43235

4. Finales de Marzo - Gran Conferencia sobre Cáncer en Latinos, como prevenirlo y detectarlo en etapas tempranas . Lugar, hora y día por confirmar.

5. Abril 12 (jueves) 6:30 PM - Museo Arte Moderno de Columbus - abierto hasta las 8:30 p.m.

6. Mayo 5 (sábado) 7:30 PM - Entrega de becas Clintonville Women Club

7. Mayo 19 (sábado) 7:30 a 10:30 AM Race for the Cure Columbus, nuestro equipo es ‘Latinas por la Vida’

8. Junio 22 (viernes) ‘Picnic con Pops-Columbus Symphony Orchestra", ubicado en los jardines de Chemical Abstracts Service. Hora por confirmar.

9. Julio 14 (sábado) 9 AM - Paseo a ‘Lake Hope State Park’ - 1 hora al sureste de Columbus, cerca Athens,OH

10. Agosto 11-12 (sábado y domingo) 11 AM a 8 PM - Festival Latino organizado por CAPA en Genoa Park - voluntarios para vender refrescos.

11. Septiembre, fecha y hora por confirmar Actividad por el Mes de la Herencia Hispana -posibilidades con el CREW, u otra actividad.

12. Octubre. Día de Brujas - por confirmar día, hora y lugar.

13. Noviembre Actividad por el día de Acción de Gracias –posibilidades con la Cruz Roja o en asilo de ancianos. Actividad, lugar, fecha y hora por confirmar.

14. Diciembre 15 (sábado) 7:00 PM, cena en ‘River Club’ en 679 West Spring Street, Columbus
